Adobe® Flash
Media rich websites and internet applications, animated graphics, navigation and video content, as in the caivision-ci website. Adobe Flash is the software of choice for all of these. Being a cross platform and cross browser standard, visually compelling content for part or complete websites/applications can be created.
The newest version of Flash contains animation and programming suites requiring a high degree of knowledge and skill. websites built with Flash are more expensive to produce that normal XHTML based websites, which is understandable, being the rich media authoring tool that it is.
In our opinion Flash should be used if it brings a genuine benefit to the visitors experience, helps to explain content visually (e.g. with animated graphics) as in the New Victoria Orthopaedic Clinic website, is used as a teaching/games environment or to build a media rich application.

FlashVideo (FLV)
FLV is one of the most usedvideo formats, particularly on sites such as YouTube. It is high quality, stable and secure and works seamlessly with other software in the Adobe range.
Apple® QuickTime
Apple's QuickTime is also high quality and stable, with excellent web streaming capabilities. The authoring environment is capable of producing outstanding results.
